Offshore platform weight control

The engineering challenge

Offshore platform decisions depend on consistent weight predictions across project phases, weight cases, and load conditions. Brownfield, greenfield, and FEED work each require appropriate allowances and contingency.

My contribution

• Updated monthly weight reports for ADNOC Offshore, including multiple platforms, weight cases, and load conditions.
• Developed weight control procedures using ISO 19901-5 and determined allowances and contingency appropriate to each project phase.
• Used 3D CAD data extraction and worked across engineering disciplines to identify gaps and overlaps in weight information.

Deliverables & documented results

Monthly reporting and phase-appropriate procedures provided a consistent basis for reviewing platform weight predictions and identifying issues across disciplines.
